All information is kept private between you and the organization providing assistance. No information is provided to Welland Minor Basketball. If you are approved, WMBA will receive a letter from the organization stating your reference # and the amount approved for. 

 

 

 

 

Jump Start

Raising funds. Lifting spirits. Supporting dreams.

Jumpstart is more than just about getting kids active. It’s about giving kids from families in financial need the same chance to participate as their neighbours, their classmates and their friends.

Application Process

Families capable of applying online can apply at   www.jumpstart.canadiantire.ca

There is an ‘apply’ button in the upper right of the home page.

Families in and around Niagara can contact the Hope Centre directly to apply or for assistance.

Pro Kids

ProKids provides opportunities for kids and youth from low income families to participate in a sports or other recreational activity of their choice.

ProKids is managed in collaboration with the YMCA of Niagara and a Community Advisory Council. More than 200 businesses and agencies provide supports to the ProKids program to ensure that children and youth are able to take part.

Eligibility

ProKids can assist in covering some or all of the cost of recreational/cultural programs if you:

  • Live in Niagara

  • Have a child between 0-18 years old

  • Have a taxable income below $40,000 (per year)

KidSport Niagara

KidSport Niagara™ is a grass roots Canadian non-profit organization that provides support to under-resourced children and youth 18 years of age and under by removing financial barriers that prevent them from playing organized sport.

Application Process

Please apply to KidSport Niagara, just KidSport. Leaving off the ‘Niagara’ part could send you to the main KidSport webpage, printing the application from this site will direct your application to the Ontario chapter in Toronto. This would greatly slow down the process.

Please include a hard copy of their registration form to submit with their application. The adjudicators need to see one with each application.

Please include all components requested on the application, including:

  • The endorsement letter (from a professional, someone that can speak on the needs of the family, not anyone from your WMBA and not from a family member).

  • Latest Notice of Assessment for each adult in the household.

  • Copy of each adult’s three latest pay stubs. (if they are employed).
