NGBA Welland Warriors captures the Novice (U10) Division One Ontario Basketball Championship

The Welland – NGBA Warriors finished a terrific season winning the Novice Division One Ontario Basketball Championship beating Hamilton Transway in the Final 34 -31 in Overtime. The team opened the tournament beating Blessed Sacrament 44 – 14, then defeating Caledon Cougars 32-10. In the Semi Final the Warriors defeated #3 seeded Kitchener 32-7.

 The team finished with a very good 27 – 3 overall record. During the season winning the Rochester Invitational Tournament – Battle of Stoney Creek Tournament – Ancaster Magic and the Guelph CYO Tournaments.

 “Our Welland – NGBA (Niagara Girls Basketball Academy) Warrior’s philosophy all season was the persistent development of individual and team skills realizing that the process would take care of the results. I am proud to say that this group of girls deserve a lot of credit for consistently placing team success over individual achievement. Great season and an honour to coach.”
